QUALITY MANAGER - BERKSHIRE - NUCLEAR/PETROCHEM/ENGINEERING
My Client, a Nuclear Establishment is seeking a Quality Manager on a Permanent Basis in Berkshire.
To maintain and develop a suitable and effective Quality Management System within the defined Business Areas that enables them to achieve their performance objectives and goals, whilst satisfying statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements
Salary Range £48,000 to 53,000 dependent on experience
Key accountabilities Accountable to the Business Area Head of Assurance Service for managing, assessing, reviewing and reporting on the quality performance of the Business Areas Quality Management System
Responsibilities • To operate within the company standards relating to Security, Quality, Environment, Safety and Health • Define the Business Areas Quality Management Strategy and Quality Improvement programmes • Establish the necessary quality management system for including the deployment of appropriate quality tools, methods and processes that support business area performance and product quality • Plan and prioritise the provision of Quality management advice and support to the Business Areas Senior Management to meet the requirements of each Business Area • Develop the Business Areas Quality professionals in line with the company values and Technical competencies for Quality • Manage the resources, tasking and ensure appropriate budget coverage for programme support activities • Influence major suppliers and Universities to meet and exceed relevant quality arrangements • Provide (or facilitate acquisition) of QA resources and advice for Business and Programme areas ensuring Suitably Qualified and Experienced QA staff are available for specialist tasks e.g. pressure vessels, software development & trials • Establish an Audit strategy that appropriately manages risk and adds value to each Business Area • Plan and manage the audit and assessment processes and co-ordinate the company and external audit requirements within each Business Area • Raise the profile of Quality and gain commitment to a culture of Right first Time performance
Qualifications • Degree / HND or equivalent in an engineering or science • Member of CQI • Lead auditor (desirable) Knowledge • Management Systems and in particular the requirements of ISO9001 and AQAP 2110 • Process Management • Modern quality management tools • Research methods and practices Experience • Experience of Quality Management in an engineering or defence environment with ISO9001 or AQAP 2110 compliant systems • A competent auditor (IRCA certified preferred but not essential) • The ability to apply green or black belt quality improvement tools in the workplace to improve quality
