Welding Engineer jobs in Greater London

• Develop and qualify weld procedures in the Laboratory and field
• Failure examinations on welds, witnessing and reporting on mechanical tests
• Review technical bid documentation and summarise key information in relation to scope, welding and NDT requirements
• Prepare technical qualifications
• Prepare welding and NDT Philosophy documents
• Prepare estimate for qualification of welding procedures
• Prepare schedule for welding procedure qualification, AUT qualification and trial welds
• Prepare visit and technical reports
• Produce a full close out report to the current client standards
• Monitor work in progress (in the work shop/on site)


Required Skills/Experience:
• Ideally degree qualified in a Metallurgy/Materials related discipline
• A minimum of five years experience in welding in the oil and gas industry
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports and give presentations
• Excellent team working skills and time management skills
• Ability to develop strong client relationships
• Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas for various periods of time
• Ability to carry out desk based technical work
• Ideally has knowledge of the basic inspection techniques and their application to gas pipelines and process plant
