Job Description:

Our client is one of the leading contracting companies in the UAE, having been trading now for over 30 years, enjoying a turnover of around £450 Million and employing a work force of over 8000. They are the flagship division of a much larger group consisting of another 12 companies.
Due to impressive growth and a restructure, our client is looking to appoint a new General Manager to have full P&L responsibility for it's contracting arm.

Job Description:
As General Manager you shall be responsible for the performance of the entire organization, including the implementation of the implementation of the Business Plan prepared by the Executive Director. This position requires an individual with the ability to lead the organisation from the front, and to ensure that customer's requirement's are met and/or exceeded on all projects.
Other duties will include:
1. Assisting the Executive Director in prepare the organisation business plan, with periodic forward projections, and acquire Board approval.
2. Ensure that the quality and health, safety and environment management systems are established and maintained, and ensure the continual improvement of all processes.
3. Establish and manage the organisation operating and capital expenditure budgets and ensure that sustainable profit margins are achieved.
4. Overall responsible to manage all of the resources of the organisation.
5. Ensure that KPIs are established for all functions and at all levels, as the measure of performance.
6. To establish levels of authority and delegate authority, as appropriate.
7. Continual liaison with prospective Customers in order to secure new projects.
8. Maintain good relations with Customers and establish long term relations to ensure return business.
9. Establish and maintain Joint Venture partnership relations to enhance the organizational capacity and capabilities for mega projects.
10. Justify financial losses to the Board of Directors, and take the necessary steps to mitigate its effect on the organisation.
11. Risk analysis and management, and institute appropriate preventive measures.

The right individual will hold a Graduate or Postgraduate in Civil Engineering and an MBA or Chartered Status, would be an added advantage.

Required Skills/Experience:
Experience managing large multi-national teams. Multi-million projects

Required Qualifications:
• A Graduate or Postgraduate in Civil Engineering.
• A Masters in Business Administration / Management would be an added advantage.
