| Job Description: |
The Role:
To be an integral part of the Materials team. To promote and apply the tools and skills of materials engineering in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner. Assist in planning the workload for the function Execute technical duties in a competent manner and in accordance with company procedures Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget Ensure that project deliverables are generated Review and check the work of others Assist in planning, coordination and execution of the groups work activities Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work Assist in the compilation of weekly reports on progress. Prepare and deliver technical reports on material/metallurgist problems as directed by client. Reports should be of a suitable professional quality. Carry out manual and computer analysis Review and comment on vendor information Carry out single and inter discipline checks and reviews Attend meetings as and when required Carry out onshore/offshore survey work as required Assist in business development activities for the function
The Person:
Educated to degree level /HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline preferred Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards Working knowledge of industry recognised materials codes and analytical theory practices Conversant with relevant technical software Aware or latest technical developments Current offshore Survival and medical certificate Demonstrable experience in similar role Ability to facilitate groups and workshops Ability to guide and direct engineers and designers Effective written and verbal communication skills
