Job Description:

Instrument Engineers need to work for a world leader in the Marine & Energy industry. Expertise in risk management, rules and standards and asset management. They have an excellent reputation in the industry for commitment to career development of their staff and delivering on their promises.

You will join a team of existing 35 engineers and support staff and your duties will include:
Providing technical support in the instruments discipline, in particular related to safeguarding systems (F&G and ESD) on fixed and floating oil producing installations.
The primary activities will be to assist in the development, implementation and management of combined schemes of Verification/Examination for new and existing Fixed Offshore Installations.
The successful candidate will also be performing design verification and surveys on offshore installations and mobile offshore units.

Qualifications & Experience
An appropriate Engineering Degree (MSc preferred) with offshore engineering experience; or
An HND or equivalent with extensive industry experience in maintenance, operation, assembly and/or commissioning of instrument, F&G and ESD systems will be considered.

Capable and willing to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

Knowledge and experience in Instrument Systems, Fire and Gas and ESD Systems is essential with offshore experience and understanding of their examination and testing.
Beneficial but not essential, to have an understanding of UK offshore Legislative regime relating to Safety Case (SCE) and Prevention of Fire and Explosion and Emergency Response (PFEER) on offshore installations.
A good all-round technical ability with knowledge of Electrical Engineering would be beneficial along with certification requirements for "Ex" rated electrical instruments.

The capability to effectively express opinion and resolve contentious issues is important to the job.
