Our client is one of the world's leading ship classification societies. Who's primary purpose is to determine the structural and mechanical fitness of ships and other marine structures for their intended purpose. It does this through a procedure known as classification. They establish and administer standards, known as Rules, for the design, construction, and operational maintenance of marine vessels and structures. To work as part of the Engineering Department in London within team of 50 Engineers dedicated to the plan approval of structural, mechanical, piping and electrical systems for new shipbuilding projects and existing ships as well as approval and certification of equipment and documentation as required by International Regulations, acting on behalf of numerous Flag Administrations Plan review of piping systems on board ships for compliance with Class Rules and International Regulations and standards, e.g. SOLAS, MARPOL. The scope of work can cover plan review of piping systems such as fuel oil, cooling water, lube oil, hydraulic oil, fire main, ballast, bilge or inert gas systems as well as statutory documents such as SOPEP, Safety Plan or ODM Manual. Additional knowledge/experience in marine mechanical equipment design and/or stress analysis would be preferable. Engineering degree (B.Eng. or MSc) with marine industry experience of ship piping systems or similar. |
